Booking & Cancellation Policy

Booking Methods

 

Requested walks by our customers should be at least 24 hours before the slot is required. New customers will be provided with a suitable date & time slot for both partys, for a Meet and Greet appointment. Once you are registered with us you can then follow our normal booking Methods.

 

Walks fullfilled on weekends will occur an extra charge for out of normal hours. Please check service charges

Cancellation Policy

Cancellations should be given with 24 hours notice, if 24 hours is not provided, a normal walk charge will be added.

We will always try to provide 24 hours notice to cancellations we have to make, on occassions which is out of our control, for example vehicle breakdown, weather conditions, Traffic issues, we will cancel with as much notice as possible.

We will request payment for one walk per week for customers who do not use our service on school holiday periods, to secure your place within the group or solo walks slots.

 

Booking Confirmation

We will aim to reply within 3 hours to confirm booking, via method contacted on.

 

Please bear with us whilst we are busy on our walks.

Payments

(1)PAYMENT TERMS

 

(1.1) I will charge you for each walk.

 

(1.2). My current prices are as follows:

  • 1 Hour Group Dog Walk (a mixed group of different households’ dogs) £12 per dog, (Additional dogs from the same household and can travel in the same crate safely is an extra £4 per dog, another crate is charged at the Initial cost of £12.

  • 1 Hour Solo Dog Walk £16 (only your dog/s will be taken on the service) (Additional dogs from the same household is £6 per dog).

  • Pet Visits (a 30-minute time slot to visit your pet for the care needs you have expressed at appoint booking) £9 per visit.

  • Puppy Visits (a 30-minute time slot to visit your puppy for toilet breaks, play time, company, check of food/water.) £9 per visit.

 

(1.3). Payment will be invoiced to you via email under the arranged payment period decided at the beginning stages of the agreement. Requested weekly payers will receive theirs on every day of Friday. Requested monthly payers will receive theirs on the last Friday of the month. Payments will need to be made within 2 Calendar days of receipt of invoice. Payments should Not be made prior to receiving the company invoice and invoice numbers need to be added in the reference details for payments made via bank transfer.

 

(1.4). In the event of any payments becoming over due by more than 5 calendar work days, I may cancel your future bookings for the services.

 

 

(1.5). I may increase my prices from time to time. I will notify you of any changes to my prices and these will apply to any new bookings after the relevant increase.

 

(1.6). You agree to give 24 hours’ notice if I need to cancel any dog walking session/s booked with Heathcote’s tail travels, where 24 hours’ notice is not provided by you, you agree to pay for this booking in full.

The Services

(1). THE SERVICES

 

(1.1). The Services which I will perform in accordance with this Agreement will be walking your Dog and taking your Dog for exercise or visiting your pet to meet the pets needs at home as agreed upon by us.

 

(1.2). I will perform the services for you on the dates and time slots agreed between us, in accordance with my available working times which are generally:

Monday – Friday between the hours of 8am - 6pm, average morning and afternoon time slots are given; Morning 8-10, 10-12 Afternoon 12-2, 2-4, 4-6.

(a). There may be times when I cannot perform the services due to reasons beyond my control. Such circumstances may include illness or adverse weather conditions which would make it unsafe to perform the services. In these circumstances, I will provide as much notice as is reasonably practicable and you will not be required to pay for any booked services if I am unable to provide them. I will not be liable for any breach of this agreement in those circumstances.

 

(b). You will understand that in some circumstances, I may be earlier or later and I cannot be held responsible for circumstances beyond my control, such circumstances may include Weather conditions/Traffic delays/ Illness/ Emergency’s.  I will provide as much notice as is reasonably practicable and payment should still be made when the service has been provided.

 

(1.3). I may transport your Dog to an appropriate walking location in my vehicle which is fitted with the following safety features:

  • Secure Dog Crates with slip proof flooring

  • Air flow Vent to give air circulation within the dog’s transport area.

  • Fresh drinking water for your pet, play equipment, cleaning equipment, Pet first aid kit.

 

(1.4). All walks will take place within the following areas:

Tameside and Glossop

 

(1.5). Any trips outside of the agreed area will be explicitly agreed upon by us.

 

(1.6). I will perform the services with reasonable care and skill.

 

(1.7). I will ensure that I perform the services in accordance with all the relevant legal requirements, including (but not limited to):

  • The Animal Welfare Act 2006;

  • The Animals Act 1971

  • The control of Dogs Act 1991 (as amended);

  • The Highway Code; and

  • The Countryside Code

 

(1.8). I am insured & If you would like to see a copy of my insurance policy please ask me.

 

(2) START DATE AND BOOKINGS

 

(2.1) You must provide me with the following documents before I can provide the services to you:

 

(2a). A signed copy of the agreement

 

(3). YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES AND CONSENT

 

(3.1). You must ensure that you provide suitable leads, harnesses and collars with all the relevant information.

 

(3.2). You will ensure that your dog is fit and ready to attend the walk in the booked slot.  You understand that your Dog should not eat a full meal for at least 2 hours before walking.

 

(3.3). You confirm that your Dog is microchipped.

 

(3.4).  You accept and agree that your Dog will come into contact with other Dogs and animals whilst I perform the services.

 

(3.5). You authorise Dylan Heathcote to obtain any emergency veterinary care that may be necessary during the time spent with my dog(s). I understand that every effort will be made to contact me prior to obtaining emergency care. I accept responsibility for any charges related to this emergency care. I also authorise Dylan Heathcote to use an alternative veterinarian if my regular veterinarian is unavailable.

 

(3.6). You agree to reimburse Dylan Heathcote for any additional fees for providing emergency care, as well as any expenses incurred for unexpected visits, transportation, housing, food, or supplies.

 

(3.7). You will be responsible for any medical expenses and damages resulting from an injury to Dylan Heathcote or other persons/dog(s) by my dog(s). I agree to indemnify and hold harmless Dylan Heathcote in the event of a claim by any person injured by my dog(s).

 

(3.8). You agree that you will notify me prior to any booked walk if your Dog has become infected with any infectious or contagious disease or condition.  You understand that, in those circumstances, I may choose to cancel the booking.

(3.9). You agree that you will provide any proof of all current and up-to-date vaccinations in relation to your Dog upon request.

(3.10). You agree and understand that I will not walk dangerous or aggressive Dogs and you warrant that your Dog has never displayed dangerous or harmful behaviour towards humans or other pets.

 

(3.11). You agree to provide keys/arrange for keys to be available For Dylan Heathcote for the dog walking/feeding appointment if applicable.

 

(3.12). You Agree that photos taken of your pet/s during services can be used on the company’s website/social media, Please put into writing if you disagree and want your pet to not be displayed and send this to us via email heathcotetailtravels@gmail.com

Dog Walking Temperatures Policy

Extreme Heat policy

​

Temperatures exceeding 23°C (73°F): - Walks will be significantly shortened or rescheduled to early morning or late evening hours. Brachycephalic Breeds (flat - faced dogs like Pugs, Bulldogs) will have walks significantly reduced or canceled. We will focus on shaded areas; short grass & hot pavements will be avoided. The Dog’s will have frequent water breaks

Extreme Cold Policy

​

Temperatures Below -4°C (25°F): - Walks will be significantly shortened to a potty break only, house visits will replace dog walks. Dogs should have well-insulated coats available We monitor the dogs for signs of shivering, lethargy, or paw discomfort ( paws will be checked for signs of frostbite) Communication with

 

Customers Policy

 

We will look to giving 24 hour’s - notice where possible, of changes to our dogs walks due to weather conditions. On occasions the notice will be given on the day via text messages, phone, social media sites or email. We will reschedule the pets walk asap, if requested by the customer not to do a home visit.
